It Could Get A Bit Messi In Here - The Football Thread.

Madrid and Liverpool are teams that you’re not necessarily expected to beat right now to be fair. I’d not read too much into that.
yeah I realized that after I said that. City's previous results actually aren't all that bad. It's the bigger games (vs. Madrid, Liverpool, even going back to PSG where they sh*t the bed) that make them seem like they're doing worse than they are. They're still hanging around those CL spots because they're getting wins they should be.
Can we beat Ipswich….
You're at home so I feel like you have to. If it was away I'd be more concerned. I fully went into that match this weekend thinking Ipswich can do the double, but they make too many mistakes. Similar to Luton last season where they put on a show and go ahead or draw level vs. sides they shouldn't be beating then concede a cheap goal and the game is over. When they scored to make it 2-1 over the weekend the momentum was fully with them and I was worried it was going to happen again, but they just couldn't do it. I feel like you'll get a cheap goal and win 1-0.

We do have this thing where the lack of character in the squad seems to make it harder for them to play at home under “pressure” from our own fans rather than away….

If United didn't already have 30 points I'd say maybe. But I really, really do not see Ipswich doing enough. Leicester are down bad and Southampton are already in League One. Both Wolves and Ipswich need to get a move on up the table for the possibility of United going down even being entertained. I think Wolves stay up with like 30 points this season. United finish on 38~ or so.
