What a great final match day! A few questions from a premier league newb:
- it seemed like a lot of top flight teams faced lower level teams today. Is that just a weird schedule quirk or intentional? It would seem more exciting if top tier clubs would face other top tier clubs on the final day.
- I know the top 4 teams go to the champions league but is there a difference between finishing 2nd, 3rd, or 4th?
- 23 goals for golden boot, and a tie between Son and Saleh. How often is there a tie for golden boot and is 23 a high number, or in the low end?

Fixtures draw is entirely random
Money. The prize money goes up a few million for each step. It used to be 3rd & 4th had to go through the qualifiers in champions league but UEFA kinda changed the rules in favour of bigger clubs so not so much now.
23 is lower in modern years but is kind of average overall. Ties happen, one year it was a 4 or 5 way tie on 18 (98-99 I think)

I’m glad Leicester was able to finish strong.

The shirts and paraphernalia are down to the clubs. Some go for that crap, others think it’s tempting fate on a day when it’s not already won and don’t.
The PL has 2 trophies for situations like this, the main trophy which would have been in Manchester, because they were ahead, and a back up would have been in Liverpool. As far as I’m aware the backup trophy has never been used, the team ahead has always gone on to win, closest would have been the one that I still try to forget happened.
