It Could Get A Bit Messi In Here - The Football Thread.

such flukey goals too! (not saying that as a bad thing, but just in the right place and right time for both of them)

First one for sure. But second was a good delivery, he’s still the best set piece taker I’ve seen, no luckier than any other set piece goal really. It did help that the equaliser pretty much destroyed Munich, they were dead after it.

I guess this would apply to more to those that live Stateside, but is anyone watching MLS and the USL? The US Open Cup action last night was fun. There were a couple of Cupsets 😁

I was at the Galaxy V FC game. It was a lot of fun! Looking forward to taking on Sacramento in the next round. Their GM is a former Galaxy player they is well liked by the fan base.

I’m not sure if it was reports because MLS like to suppress this stuff. But there was quite a bust up after the game. Apparently a FC play spit on a Galaxy player.

The funny part was in the post game interviews the players and coaches for the Galaxy were like…”what are you guys talking about nothing happened after the game.” When clearly something happened.

I watched some of that game. Although I didn’t catch the whole thing. I haven’t settled on an MLS team yet because I’m waiting to see if Las Vegas will be in the expansion talk. If not, I’m thinking of supporting on of the LA teams or maybe Portland. It was cool to see Sacramento win as well as the League One team, Union Omaha.

All the goals were in the 2nd half. Once Galaxy started scoring the FC fans started growing beer off the second level. I’m sure the people under them enjoyed that. Al of them were probably FC fans. I would wait till Vegas gets a team. Aren’t they up for a franchise soon?

I guess I’ll pull for either Nashville or Houston since those are closest.

Oh I’d be pissed if that happened to me.
There was some talk earlier in the year about possible expansion and maybe by summer there would be news but nothing yet. If the expansion is granted, I’m hoping the stadium is built downtown and away from the strip. The Knights and Raiders are already there and one of the sites that could be in play if the Athletics move is the property where the Tropicana Hotel is.
And now there’s talk that LV & Seattle could be up for NBA expansion. PLUSSSS we already have minor league baseball, hockey, footy AND WNBA….whew.
From an environmental and financial standpoint, I don’t know how the city and the surrounding cities can support this but I guess we’ll find out. The housing market here is bananas.
