A lot depends on the player and there is so much contradictory stuff that’s coming out around this deal that it’s hard to know the truth.
The Barca press are painting a contented player who doesn’t want to go in an attempt to push up the price. Other press are pointing to a player who has to be sold and knows it whilst a third set is saying he’s open to rejoining ten Haag and being the centrepiece of his new team. The truth is probably a more nuanced hybrid of the the three. The €17m they owe him is definitely a complicating factor!
That said my reaction that that situation would be “I’m going to show those bastards what they are missing.”
Also, it keeps showing just how much trouble Barca are in financially.

So Ronaldo is still, 13 years on, 1/8 of our entire transfer take for the last 30 years…
I’m surprised we are that high up the list tbh because traditionally we didn’t sell all that many players. The ones that left had reached the point where we selling them on to get more football, see out their careers, and the fees were lower.
