It Could Get A Bit Messi In Here - The Football Thread.

Honestly if I was an Arsenal fan I’d be Saka. Young, exciting local talent that’s come through the youth system. Plus 7 is the number for all the cool kids.

But my rule of over 12 and not going for the name of a player on the kit stands, veers horribly close to full kit wanker territory.
Full Kit Wanker Territory is a great band name

Haaland will get less than 20 goals this season in the league, mark my words
People act like City dumped all their shooters and are relying on Haaland

People act like Pep's rotation tactics won't be a thing again this year.

Haaland usage is still way to high for FPL imo but we shall see

yeah I think dumping him for Jesus is the smarter move for FPL. Jesus is going to start every possible EPL game, Haaland? 🤷‍♂️

I also think they'll struggle without Sterling and Grealish won't be able to fill that void.

Last year was a huge chance, probably your best. Blew it. Small squad and Thursday/Sunday grind. Particularly after the World Cup and Christmas.
We'll see how it goes I suppose. I am optimistic given all the moves we've made, re-signings, and injuries clearing up across the board. We definitely have some depth now.

Also very favorable schedule after Christmas for the most part

EDIT: Semi favorable schedule after Christmas. Very favorable come Feb-April

I like Arteta and I like what he’s done with you, particularly in style of play. I also like nearly all of your signings over the last 18 months. I just think you’d really struggle to replace Saka, Partey and Gabriel, in particular, if something was to happen to them. You could also end up having topsey turvey results when they need to be rested.

I really think Martinelli and Odegaard will step up this year to take some pressure off Saka. He had the whole team on his shoulders offensively once Auba left.....this is going to sound wild but the way they are running 3-4-2-1 and using Zinchenko in midfield I think he will eventually start over Partey. Maybe even Fabio Veiria will take that spot up. I like Partey but he only has flashes of brilliance and it's rare. Otherwise he's pretty boring to me

U are right about Gabriel at this point though

Ramsdale also still gives me the heebie jeebies. He proved me spectacularly wrong last year but there’s a nagging feeling that it was a freak and that the really shit train wreck of a keeper from Bournemouth and Sheffield United is still the reality. We will see.
