It Could Get A Bit Messi In Here - The Football Thread.

It was. He was asking for it hanging on the shoulders of the Villa player but nonetheless that was a wild whip in from Douglas Luiz.....see if we sign him today 👀

It was but it’s also the area most corners are hit into and most teams crowd the goalkeeper. It really wasn’t one he could come for, if he’d not tried to fight to do that and had held his position he could have just punched it away or flicked it over the bar.

I like Luiz, he’s a decent holder, good cover with Partey out and a bit injury prone.

He definitely believes in God and he definitely has tricked himself into thinking that no one would believe that he could go to the best club in the Premier League and dominate.

A lot of footballers are religious. I think given the fact that they’re generally from poorer countries, or more working class backgrounds in Europe, and then have had so much money and adulation thrown on them so young that it’s either that or runaway ego town. Or worse still a combination of both…

I don’t really have a problem with him believing in god. What he’s doing on the pitch would be much more impressive if he was playing for Everton.

True but given the type of weird cyborg that he is, I don’t doubt that he would. He had a better champions league record for Salzburg than Dortmund…

Ego and creating invented confrontations for motivation is also a big part of top players it seems.

It’s a bit like Zlatan believing that the English press disrespected him for having a poor record against English teams in Europe. They didn’t he did. That he answered them with that game in Stockholm. He didn’t. It was one friendly game and Ryan Shawcross played at centre half. And that he “conquered” England in his year at united. He didn’t, he scored a decent amount of goals but his lack of mobility given his age killed the movement up front and they finished 5th. Hmmm that sounds suspiciously familiar. He did score important goals in one of the two finals they won that year. He more “did well in the circumstances” than conquered.

This paragraph could have been said in one word: Zlatan
