I don't know the background behind the deal, but my "hindsight, 20:20" comment was more about him being the player he is today. Everyone and their uncle scores goals at RB Salzburg. Patson Daka, Minimino, Hwang, all left and didn't really kick off like Haaland did at Dortmund.

I think it was more that he scored such a ridiculous amount of goals in the champions league group stage in his 6 months there, that and his physique, that made him feel even then like was a dead cert in the way that they didn’t.

Also as good as he is I wasn’t sad to have less to do with Raiola.
 
After seeing the news headline today I think I understand Gareth Southgates issues with Jack Grealish - want an unpleasant man he appears to be
