It Could Get A Bit Messi In Here - The Football Thread.

It´s only for 3 games anyway
💀 💀 💀 💀

Hummels/Muller/Boateng/Ozil were all blamed for being complacent and banished from the team by Low afte the last WC. But I'm happy that Muller is back in because 1) he's still got it and 2) I bought a Germany kit with his name and number on the back for this WC already 😅

One left back in a 26 man squad and expecting the 3/4 right backs to cover is a particular type of insanity.
Trippier has played LB for England before. Not saying it's a good idea but that's what will probably happen. There was an outside shot that Ryan Sessegnon would have made it with all the injuries. I don't think he'd have started any games but it would have been exciting for him to make it.

Yeah but they look shit when Trippier plays there. He’s always cutting inside and the team is really badly unbalanced. I’d have taken a less technically capable left back to balance the team. I’d have probably brought Mitchell from Palace. Regardless 4 right backs is unacceptable, this just highlights further how insane a decision that is.

I’d read about that before. Mad story!

I’ve always loved old school 70s and 80s adidas, especially the originals trainers and the old trefoil logo on the football kits. Not such a fan of puma but the puma king were a great football boot.

It is not mentioned in the article but Lothar Matthäus was actually from the small town of Herzogenaurach where both companies come from. His father worked as a janitor for Puma so he had to go to a club (Moenchengladbach) endorsed by Puma for his first professional contract. It was a big victory for adidas when he went to Adidas sponsored Bayern

I was surprised that it had the MLS patch as my FC Cincinnati didn’t. I was hoping I’d get a club from the West coast. Maybe next time.

you could probably request one. the last time I got a regular non-specific random kit from them, I specifically asked for an Addidas shirt because at the time, I was inbetween sizes and a Nike L fitted too tight but an Addidas L was just right. They sent an Addidas shirt of a club in Ecuador.

I don’t know how well they track your order history, but I was thinking the next time I order an MLS shirt, I’ll just write in all the clubs I don’t want and act like I already own them 😉

I never owned any Adidas products until they took over the jerseys for the NHL and now football kits. I’ve maybe tried on one or two pair of shoes but found them to be too narrow. Even when they were super popular in the 90s. I was always a Converse guy.

Yeah they’re narrow but as someone with a broad foot I’ve always found them really easy to break in. The originals have just always had a style for me that pretty much no other trainer has, there’s something about those 3 stripes. Also their 80s/early 90s football kits, before they dropped the trefoil, were the dogs bollocks.
