Not what I'm saying, they seemed to be playing a more opportunistic game, waiting for fast breaks and defensive break downs on the Argentinian side, rather than attacking..............either way.

Yeah I think there are two things at play there. One is that when you have Mbappe up front you want to give him space to run in to, play too high up and you compress the space for him to use his pace. The other is that I think Argentina pinned them in and that there was a very evident lethargy in their play that meant they weren’t as effective at winning the ball back to start attacks. It was almost as if the fresh legs and the goal gave them the momentum to start doing that. It was a whole lot of fun from tue 80th minute on though!
