It Could Get A Bit Messi In Here - The Football Thread.

I'm bias obviously but 11 point lead with 8 to go (City had 9 left, so essentially 8 up with 8 to go) is the worst? Against this city team? I always look at it as more of David versus Goliath but I'm not sure. The speed to the fall off might be given its all happened basically over the last 4 matches but idk

I thinks is a much the way you’ve burned out and run out of steam I suppose. In some ways it’s a bit more like us in 92 than Newcastle in 96 who just imploded.

Yeah I definitely agree these last 4 matches have been horrible and it happening back-to-back to back makes it seem so much worse

Need to go big in the summer to go again. Upgrades on Partey & Xhaka (or trust Viera to develop into that) and a third centre half are musts. Can’t let this year be a flash in the pan…

Yeah the one good thing to come out of the day is that we are guaranteed champions league next year thanks to Brighton losing so we have to keep building. Rice would be phenomenal and yea. Someone to slot behind Saliba or Gabriel is a huge must.

In 31 matches. Crazy

Only 2 more and he passes the record for a 42 goal premier league season of 34 jointly held by Shearer and Cole. If we’re going top flight, which we should, he’s still a long way off Dixie Deans’s record of 60 in the old First Division for Everton. Got 3 in the FA Cup so 63 overall. No Europe or League Cup back then.

This is actually funny. I understand motivating ur players but never agreed with Wright saying Arsenal have it in the bag a month back. This is why I've had high hopes but never jumped off a cliff saying it's ours

Ah yeah but Ian Wright is emotional and up and down and gets carried away. It was kinda part of why he was a great player.
