I’m just imagining my wingers and full backs doubling up and pinning Saka and Martinelli on the edge of their own box. I much prefer them there than in my own box.

I mean that's how they plan now essentially. They drive up the side and send in crosses try or play a little 1-2 pass and move with Odegaard or Xhaka (now Rice)
 
Reality tho Kane would start Champions League. Jesus would start premiere league and they'd sub for each other

Edu better start cooking before next summer 😆

Yes but at wing back they’d have no one properly behind them and in possession you can double up on them and drive them back and out of possession you just ping a diagonal in behind them, they ain’t running back. 3-5-2 is such a crap formation.

Now a bit like city you don’t have full backs attacking but you do defending and they are proper defenders lol.

It’s definitely weakened you. The best hope is that some players in the squad stop waiting for Kane to save them in games and just step up themselves instead.

Would you rather a let’s party like it’s 2013 spending spree or a more measured approach that would mean you’re less likely to get someone in right away.

I’m guessing Richarlisson will be the 9 to start the season now?

they have a few players rumored to come in. Gift Orban from Gent, who was rumored regardless of Kane going. I think that might accelerate now he’s gone.

I think we have the best possible manager in charge in Ange. Maybe it’s good this is done and dusted and won’t be dragged on for a whole season and is a distraction. Ange builds teams and loves a challenge. Plus his teams spread goals around where tons of players chip in. Last season we had Kane with 30 PL goals and our second top scorer was 6. 6 goals….

Richy up top, Son, Veliz, or Orban if he comes in to rotate. One game a week, Perisic actually playing in his best role if Son goes central. Kulusevski and Bissouma thriving again, Maddison on Free Kicks. I’m still optimistic on the season regardless.


It’s weird though because for most of the summer I thought it wasn’t happening. Then about two weeks ago most fans were accepting it might happen. Then for about 5 days it’s been “he’s definitely staying.” So it’s some whiplash that this is finally happening with 3 days until the first match. If it happened two weeks ago it’d be fine.
