It Could Get A Bit Messi In Here - The Football Thread.

Disappointed there is no Friday evening match today! After the break there should be a double header Friday!

Normalcy returns early tomorrow at least with a Liverpool showdown

So how badly are we going to fuck up tomorrow evening?

Also football at 8pm is a disgrace. How the fuck are fans supposed to get back across the Pennines that late af the weekend. Also not content with ruining my Saturday days now I have to watch united ruin my Saturday nights…

I think u may actually be alright this go around 🀣

Maybe on the Young penalty but not on the handball. Everton also had zero ambition as usual.

They were down to 10 men for nearly an hour! What do you want them to do. Bomb forward and lose 6-0. They defended fantastically well and Liverpool were really poor. The penalty decided the game.

Konate has to be sent off at 0-0. Has to. You can’t be ultra strict on the second yellow for Young and then be lenient with him.

Yup. Baffling decision. Wonder if the ref felt the pressure since Liverpool had been whining about decisions and then being at Anfield.

It all plays on refs minds, they are human. I honestly don’t think it’s ever intentional, refs are shit, not bent.

Ideally he shows some common sense and no player gets send off for two fouls but if you don’t you have to apply it equally to both teams.

Sure, Konate should've been sent off. But you sit back against Liverpool and bunker, don't be shocked if they are going to try every trick to get a penalty and an easy score for Salah. And I guess I feel different about a 10 men approach given what Liverpool have done in the same situation and pulled out 3. You are fighting for your EPL life now.

Yes but then you’re down to 10, the numbers are leveled up and it’s before the penalty.

Also look at your squad and starting 11 and transfer spend. You should be pushing to win the title. Of course you can continue to attack against weaker teams with 10. I’m not sure that happens against city or arsenal quite the same.

Everton are an average side with a decent keeper and a good striker if he stays fit. 8-12 is the absolute best this team is going to do. They simply can’t do that, it’s suicide!
