Declan Rice has been immense today. Best player on the park. Him and the much maligned Jorginho have controlled the match for Arsenal today.

Did they say the reasoning behind it? As much as I hate Jerry Jones AT&T stadium is MUCH nicer than MetLife. I imagine the whole New York City of it all with transport and such?

I think it's having the final in a big city like New York. Last one was LA. Dallas is Dallas. I mean the games aren't even in Dallas. There's a soccer show here in town that was saying yesterday that they thought the wind was blowing New York's way since the FIFA president was there a good portion of the week. His staff liked DFW better but the president seemed more enamored with the Big Apple. Maybe it was a last ditch effort by NY to win the final. Maybe it was also the visual aesthetic of having an outdoor final match versus a dome. I don't think NYC has trains that run out there but that's a great venue if you're staying anywhere on the west side of Manhattan or in New Jersey.

Arlington can't complain though. It got 9 matches, the most of the tournament. There's zero public transportation to get out there. Not even buses as they do not take part in Dallas Area Rapid Transit. There's no trains that run out there. Maybe they'll figure something out but it will be a mess. I took my wife and daughter out to Taylor Swift in that stadium and it was ridiculous. I'm thrilled even though I hate that stadium because I was unable to attend matches at the Cotton Bowl in 1994 because I was freshly new in Austin to attend college at UT. I'm going to try to get tickets for the group stages. Maybe also will try to go down to Houston too if the matchups are better.

Yeah the quality will drop considerably like when the Euros went from 16 up to 24. I suppose the flip side is that there will be more traditionally smaller nations and so more stories.
 
Some notes:

KDBs hair is more springy and has more flow than he does, but also is causing him to overheat. (Seriously he looks like a traffic light) He can still send in a mean ball tho

Haaland: Robot looks rusty, aside from his jaw hinge, his big meme worthy frog/ troll of a smile still shines through...His hair also has more flow than him as of now

Alvarez looks like a kid lost in an adult league pickup game...not just cuz his size and lack of facial hair. With KDB and Haaland both starting he seems lost

Foden also looks like a kid in an adult league pickup but he fucking kills it and annoys all the old guys

Ederson is still drunk from Cerveza Sunday

Silvas beard finally connects so I think there's hope for Alvarez

Kyle Walker plays women much better than he's playing today but they'll somehow win still.
