It Could Get A Bit Messi In Here - The Football Thread.

United were the better team for the first 15 up to the goal but villa have really stepped it up since and been dangerous. Really good game so far.

Jefferson Lerma from Palace tried a flying crane kick and wiffed, ended up on his ass, and ball changed possession over to Chelsea....for about 8 seconds. Lerma gets up, gets the ball back, then sends a rocket into the corner of the net from 28 yards out! What a ride

I thought using the Triple Captain would be easy this year....but there are some interesting options this week aside from Mr. Roboto

Lots of cool looking MLS kits dropped today. For those interested in the retirement league.

I’d really love to see the MLS throw all its eggs into the player development route. To maximise the quality of talent it was bringing through and selling on for a profit with the aging stars as the experienced heads in the dressing room to help develop them. You’d end up with a much better product to watch even in the medium term.

Also need relegation and promotion. Dead rubbers suck the life out of a competition and create an environment where owners don’t need to strive to win to turn a profit.

I know Benfica and FC Dallas are now working together for talent development.
