Football for some reason seems to have decided it needs to keep copying rugby. It’s nonsense. Rugby is an inherently physical game with huge collisions that needs strict interpretations of laws to prevent itself being sued out of existence. It also has loads of long pauses to set up for complicated set pieces. TMO (VAR) and sin bins make perfect sense in it and work well for all the reasons they’re awful in football.
