It Could Get A Bit Messi In Here - The Football Thread.

Could any club in Turkey afford the wages to extract him, even without considering a much diminished fee?

It might be time but I just don’t see what his realistic options are anymore. It’s sad because he’s clearly a really talented local lad.
United will still have to pay a majority of his wages. Clubs do that a lot. That’s unfortunate but no one can afford him. Best he can do is go there to try and raise his profile again.

They do when there is a fee but I can’t see us taking next to no fee and paying him like €250k a week to play somewhere else on a permanent deal. Maybe a loan for a year but then his contract still has three or four years left to run.

There is still a player in there somewhere I just hope he can find that again, be it at United or elsewhere.

I said Turkey because I could see him linking up with Jose at Fenerbache. United would still have to pay a lot of it but they could afford a good chunk.

But even in Turkey does a good chunk of €350k a week over 3/4 years still make it enough that it makes economic sense to United to allow that given that the fee would likely be small as well. It’s not like them paying €60k of Fred’s €150 odd over a year or two and kinda getting a fair few as well.
