Probably Scott Hull:Just received my copy of the new BadBadNotGood on clear vinyl. It sounds really good, but I cannot make out where it was pressed. It's stamped "Masterdisk." Does that indicate who mastered it, or does that relate to the pressing plant? The deadwax has the initials SH written in it. Assumming that's who mastered it.
Anyone more knowledgeable about these things than I? No info on Discogs.
Thanks for the link!Probably Scott Hull:
Edit: yea— it seems to be him. One of the other listings for it lists him as the lacquer cutter
Here are some of the one's I have and enjoy the vibe from. You should be able to stream these on many of the services.
@Potato-Socks
Sounds fantastic so far.
It might be worth it for the people-watching alone! We went to a local jazz club to see Kenny Barron a few weeks ago and my wife liked watching the crowd more than the band! What's missing from your life? A jazz cruise (you must do jazz hands while saying jazz cruise or it doesn't count)

Signature CRUISE Experiences Since 2001, nearly 200,000 guests have sailed on a Signature Cruise Experiences’ program.Over 18,000 of them have sailed on 4 or more programs!bluenoteatsea.com
Especially if @jamieanderson1968 shows up with his straw boater hat!It might be worth it for the people-watching alone! We went to a local jazz club to see Kenny Barron a few weeks ago and my wife liked watching the crowd more than the band!
Another Great Jazz Series here long OOP if you happen to run across it highly recommended. Not sure if these are on streaming. I have them in flac on my server.

John Coltrane: A Love Supreme Live in Seattle review | John Fordham's jazz album of the month
This amateur 1965 recording from a Seattle club shows Coltrane and his ensemble, expanded to include saxist Pharoah Sanders, at a pivotal momentwww.theguardian.com
The interesting thing about this release is the recording quality. The saxes are way back, very muffled, while McCoy, Elvin and Jimmy Garrison are clear as a bell. It certainly isn't an easy listen, whch is a shame, and while I can't tell for sure, the vinyl is almost certainly digitally sourced, due to presumably extensive work in the digital domain to make it passable. A historic and iconic release, but not going to set any sonic standards.another good Coltrane Love Supreme Seattle review

I imagine that the cruise will be full of guys like this:I am ready!
I imagine that the cruise will be full of guys like this:
I'm mad I just read this exchange to my wife expecting her to laugh out loud at the John Coltrane answer but she just looked blankly as I cackled like a dork to myself and saidThis is eerily like me trying to talk jazz with my fiancee.
"Oh you know this guy, you said you liked that album of his that we listened to the other day!"
"Herbie Hancock?"
"Great guess but what instrument is currently being played?"
"A trumpet?"
"Yes! Smashed it! But what instrument does Herbie play?"
"A trumpet?"
"Remember we saw Herbie live, what was he playing?"
"A trumpet?"
"No, not a trumpet"
"A saxophone or a.."
"The piano, its a piano"
"Ok yeah, a piano"
"And what's being played now?"
"A trumpet"
"Yes! So guess again"
"John Coltrane?"
And scene.
