It is a great listen. I was really surprised and pleased.Think this fits into jazz since it was released on impulse...but I just got a copy of the Pino Palladino and Blake Mills album "Notes With Attachments" and it is really excellent. Seems to be cut at Pallas and pressed at MPO. This is the version I got. Really great sound quality. And has some amazing players on it. Pino Palladino, Blake Mills, Chris Daddy Dave, Marcus Strickland among others.

Lisened to Force Majeure...Added Force Majeure to my want list!Saw Brandee Younger & Dezron Douglas play tonight, the first time they have performed as a duo in front of live audience. Hard to believe, but that’s what a pandemic will do.
In any case, incredible performance...two sets featuring many tracks from Force Majeure, a couple Alice Coltrane, a Dorothy Ashby tune, and a few others mixed in.
I spoke with both of them after the show. Dezron mentioned that his quartet has a new release coming out on International Anthem, likely in October.

it's awesome. I'm a big Blake Mills fan and all his records sound fantastic. and pino kills (as usual). It is a great listen. I was really surprised and pleased.
he's incredible. his son is pretty great too. i got to see his son play with D'Angelo a few summers ago and it was a really solid show. Chris Dave was on drums for that too (and is on that Pino/Blake album I posted about).Pino can hang with anybody. Saw him raise the roof with Jeff Beck and Vinnie Colaiuta a decade ago. Freaking fantastic.
Picked up the Gerry Mulligan - Night Lights reissue on New Land (KPG) and I think it's great. Anyone know a bit more about this mysterious label and what they have planned in the future?
Its a strange one as the rumours were that New Land was Kevin Grays new label, but it would be strange for it to be UK based as he doesn't live here.Picked up the Gerry Mulligan - Night Lights reissue on New Land (KPG) and I think it's great. KG talked about his new label on that Caropop podcast. It’s definitely not New Land. I’m looking forward to seeing what they put out next though! Its a strange one as the rumours were that New Land was Kevin Grays new label, but it would be strange for it to be UK based as he doesn't live here.
Strange, I have that as an April release date in my pre-order notes.I saw that the Impex vinyl release of Dorham‘s Matador also got pushed back, to 3/9 for now.
The Delvon Lamarr Organ Trio (DLO3) Probably deserves some love in this thread. A little more funk/Memphis infused than most other jazz organ groups. Here is some info cross posted from me in another thread. Feel free to join in
Here are a couple DLO3 I just got from Paladin on vinyl.

I preordered from Acoustic Sounds. Their site says 3/9 now. I must be bad at note taking and got it wrong.my preorder from elusive disc says "expected 2-22-2022" in the confirmation email.

Saw Vinnie with Pattitucci way back when in NYC, talk about a rhythm section!Pino can hang with anybody. Saw him raise the roof with Jeff Beck and Vinnie Colaiuta a decade ago. Freaking fantastic.

That is odd. I’ve listened to a bunch, mostly good, but the Mwandishi episode is one that stands out.For fans of the Jazz United podcast, sorry to hear Nate Chinen announce on this week's episode that it will be the final one. He was rather cryptic about the reason - but did say that co-host Greg Bryant is no longer employed by WBGO. More odd given that Bryant just launched a new podcast on WBGO focusing on Black artist titled Let Me Tell You About It.
Like the Jazz United podcast or not, it was one of the few jazz-focused podcasts worth listening to on a regular basis. Bummer.
