Day 10 - puberty - Play an album that takes you back to your teenage years
Public Enemy - It Takes A Nation Of Millions To Hold Us Back.
Probably my favorite album of all time. Listened to this so much in high school, constant turning over of the cassette. Not sure it bothered the parents, as it was usually in my car away from them as loud as possible. Definitely wasn't up their alley though.
Saturday (13) – National Weed Your Garden Day, play something you listen to while cleaning
Taylor Swift - Red
I love listening to pop music while I clean, something that will have me bouncing around the apartment as I dust. Taylor Swift definitely fits the bill!
Day 11 - Hype up a bassist or keyboardist that doesn't get enough credit
I'll do both. Brothers Phil Cook and Brad Cook are the keyboard and bass players for Hiss Golden Messenger, and are involved in multiple other projects. You can find one or both playing or recording in varied projects from Bon Iver, Megafaun, DeYarmond Edison, Gayngs, The Shouting Matches, Phil's solo albums, Blind Boys of Alabama, Frazey Ford, and super involved with showcases at Newport Folk Fest. Both are entertaining and enjoying themselves on stage, which I love. If I see either name on an album, I check it out.
Day 13 - Cleaning
Kurt Vile - Smoke Ring For My Halo
I actually did a few hours of yard work today, but I don't usually listen to music when I'm outside. I like to listen to music when I clean but don't usually think any harder about what to choose than whatever I'm in the mood for. This was my wife's choice.
I stopped reading after weed . But no, I really do tend to listen to hip hop when cleaning/working outside. I think because I can still hear the beats if I’m vacuuming or otherwise making noise.
I actually was mulching this morning, then did some house cleaning. I was listening to a lot of Lush, having been inspired by watching old episodes of 120 Minutes at night before bed.
However, I don't own any Lush vinyl, sadly
This is relevant to the era and, though more muted, still amazing dream-pop. I can't say enough nice things about this album.
Whenever I clean I usually just put my earbuds in and play something random on Spotify. So I decided to pull today’s pick from the Discogs randomizer and this was the first record I got...
I really love this record, it's great to just throw on and float around the house cleaning and dancing along like no one is watching... I wish I had a garden!
Sunday (14) – Middle East, play a record that highlights music from the Middle East
Tamino "Amir"
Tamino is a singer from Belgium, who has Egyptian roots. His album is really beautiful. Throughout the album, Tamino is joined by a collective of Arabic musicians based in Brussels called Nagham Zikrayat an orchestra predominantly made up of professional musicians from the Middle East, most of whom are refugees that fled Iraq and Syria.
I like to boogie while I vacuum and this would be good enough with the glory that is Reet Petite. But it also contains what I reckon is the most perfect song ever - (Your Love Keeps Lifting Me) Higher and Higher. Gorgeous.

Flamenco, the music from Andalucía in Spain, has lots of Middle Eastern influence.
This is N&G AotM Vol. 4 from October 2019, picked by @agutierrezb . Write-up
