Let's See What Makes Your Vinyl Spin!

As someone who's favorite amplifier is an 18w/ch fully class A amp (First Watt SIT-3), I'm pretty surprised these are now my main system amps.

PS Audio M700 Class D 350w/ch into 8 ohms, 700 into 4ohms. They are still breaking in and they are very good. Soundstage very tall and wide. Def not cold or sterile or analytical as class D cliches go.

Right now they are driving my Zu Souls (which sounds better than I assumed), but that's only until my new speakers arrive next week. Hint - they are NOT Lintons...

Harbeth?

Sweet! and welcome to the Harbeth club (which seems to have a very small membership in these parts!). I'm going to go out on a limb and predict you'll enjoy them. ;) If you haven't already decided on stands for them, I've been very happy with Skylans.
I knew you had a pair, situated near a fireplace if memory serves? But yeah, I think it's just us.

I never thought I'd be interested in Harbeths, but after a deal presented itself and I read a ton of reviews, I'm really excited. I can still return them if they disappoint, but I'll be shocked if I don't love them.

I went whole hog and got Ton Trager stands. My hope/hunch is that these speakers/stands will be with me forever in some capacity

Good memory!

Do you listen to them placed there, or pull out?
Usually there, so it's mostly near-field listening, which has been great. I'm sure a bit more distance from the rear wall (brick in this case) would be ideal, but it just isn't convenient at all. Plus, these don't have rear ports, so I think that helps.

This is the basic arrangement, with the chair typically a bit closer, and if that's the case, the speakers toed-in just a bit more. The imaging is incredible. The first time I listened to Joni Mitchell's Blue with this set-up, when her vocals came in on the first track, she was as good as a physical presence in the room, tucked right up against those brick in the sweet spot between the speakers. James Taylor's guitar was like I'd never heard it before. I'd love to have some hi-fi savant come in and show me the perfect set-up, but until then, this works for me.

Harbeth SHL5Plus XD are here. Replacing Zu Soul mkII. Still breaking in the PS Audio M700 monoblocks in addition to the speakers.

Much different presentation than the Zus. The Zus forward treble, live PA system sound had been irritating me the past year. The thought of playing the White Stripes, for example, made me wince.

The Harbeths are not as airy, but they have so much more heft, and every genre works. The Zus had such little bass, that I had stereo subs to compensate. The subs are out of the sytem now - these Harbeths bump. I have another 250 hours of listening before things should be fully settled in.

Welcome to Sub Club.

Long time no see gang! Moved into a new city and things are pretty much set to spin! Acquired my biggest upgrade in a long while. Rythmik F12 Sub 👍🏼

Tweaking the sub for a couple days now and really have it locked in and it just brings out so much from my Soundsystem it's honestly unbelievable. Got a bluejeans lc-1 for the interconnect and it's fantastic so highly recommend! Been aspiring to get a rythmik for about 2 years now based on reviews and feedback and it's just a no brainer. Everything I wanted and more!

All in all room is coming together and sounds better than ever so it's time to spin some vinyl! (Don't mind the dog wanting to play 😂)

I was looking into this exact sub and wanted to use it in a dual high-level/low-level configuration, but they never responded to my queries. :(

Oh damn, sorry to hear that! To be fair I bought this used through Canuck Audio Mart and not Rythmik (Canadian Fees are insane)

While not a manufacturer response you could reach out to NemoPropaganda on Youtube, he's the dude I learned everything about subs from and he responds to all his comments and emails 👍🏼 r/hometheatre usually offers some good sub advice too

As for a single sub I can highly recommend lol!

Looking really sharp man! Is that one of those funky Samsung Frame TVs that does the artwork when it’s off?

Good to see you back? How have you been the last while?

Just airdropped some art to my TCL tv to hide my shirtless ass in the reflection 😂

Thanks man, as is yours from browsing around this thread last night! Everybody's made some serious upgrades since last time I was here! Things are good, between jobs and moves some family illnesses kept me away from most things on the internet. But now getting settled in to a new city and place so basically back after a bit of a hiatus and it feels good! I'll be trying to pretty much go through every record now that the subs sounding good! 😂
