OK, here are the next 10!

Fascinating group with some unexpected titles, one of which is Tortoise - Millions Now Living Will Never Die. Wow! Fantastic album but a complete (and refreshing) surprise to find it at #10 on an all-decade list. Also thrilled to see Calexico - The Black Light at #13. Feally love everything about this record, especially how it's such a warm cocoon of mood, style and ambiance. Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain is brilliant; I Can Hear The Heart Beating is a standard-bearer. Britpop is represented! Last Splash -- HELL-yes (finally some ladies, although I'm not sure the MM write-up does the Breeders any favors).

I have a hard time getting past "Bananas and Blow" on Ween's White Pepper. XO is an interesting pick for Elliott Smith, as is Summerteeth for Wilco (no way I thought it would be anything but Yankee Hotel Foxtrot).

Welp, at least the sole woman led band is the top of this pile. No black people.

I am sorry, but Ween should never be in any serious best of list.

VERY surprised Elliott Smith is not top 10. Heck, not even top 5.

Interesting list. Put me in the "meh" camp for both Ween and Grandaddy. I get them being on the list but not this high.

Yeah Calexico, a perfect choice for them, though surprised they are #13.

Curious when this list was put together - pre/post Elliot Smith's death. I think he is where he should be. I personally feel his fame has had the Nick Drake effect over the last 10 years or so.

I like Summerteeth, but this over YFH?

I love Tortoise but a bit surprised they made it into the top 10. Great record but I think both TNT and Standards are superior.

Pavement, yup.

If people were doing this same list now, I wonder if Urban Hymns would be in the top 50. Definitely a huge album but also feels very much of its time.

Also love YLT, but I think of the 4 albums that qualify from this time period, it would be my last choice.

Heading towards the finish line, nothing left but #1. Guesses by anyone who hasn't already read the list?

Glaswegians represent! Can't say I'm a huge fan of If You're Feeling Sinister -- it's a bit too twee for me -- but it's in interesting record because of its timing as an inflection point between grunge and the mainstream explosion of indie rock. Would it make my top 60 list? Probably not.

Seven months later, OK Computer is released. Tough to pick which album should represent Radiohead on this list but can't argue with this choice or its placement. (Maybe too low?)

GBV is finally here as @Matt M predicted. And @jamieanderson1968 called Alien Lanes so good on him. I LOLed at this in the blurb: "Alien Lanes reminds you why you first fell in love with the myth of beer-pounded, ex-teacher old dudes building four-track masterpieces in the basements of the Midwest."

I love Nirvana like most people but haven't actively listening to their music in many years. Probably because of over-saturation, it's emotionally exhausting, and it started feeling dated. But In Utero belongs on the list.

Note that the legend for the writers' initials is at the bottom.

I expected Radiohead, GBV and Nirvana. I think just because of their colossal size, Nirvana was precluded from the #1 spot. I would wager In Utero sold as much as the 58 other releases if you also exclude Ok Computer.

Glad B&S made the list, though a bit surprised they cracked the top 10. Sinister is not my fave of their early output.
