March 10: IT'S A LIMITED EDITION!!! Play something marketed at limited.
Slift - Ummon
A limited edition of 300 copies from Rough Trade. This album made it to my Top 10 of 2020 and I spin it pretty regularly, but when I'm not listening I couldn't tell you how a single song goes. Haha. It's one of those albums that I know I love, and I know the songs as I'm listening, but as soon as I'm done I'm like "what the hell does this album sound like?".
March 11: Johnny Appleseed Day - Play something that refers to apples...or any other fruits.
Zac Brown Band - The Foundation
It's 68 degrees in Michigan, got the windows open, wearin shorts, and got some grilled chicken and veggies in front of me. I'm making a Mule and listening to something that reminds me of warm weather. This album mentions bananas in Where the Boat Leaves From, peaches in Chicken Fried, and my favorite fruit reference... coconuts in Toes. And yes, although it has the word nut in it's name, a coconut is a type of fruit called a drupe which has a thick flesh. I love songs that paint a scene & this is one of my favorites....
Cause my bartender, she's from the islands
Her body's been kissed by the sun
And coconut replaces the smell of the bar
And I don't know if it's her or the rum
