And thank goodness for that, because my Zephyr needs that last slot.
You keep the anri skate weight on the outer most rung with the Zephyr? I have mine in the middle, but I have zero recollection as to how I came to thinking that was the proper spot.

Yeah, it's a heavy cart (12.2g), just over the 10-12g recommendation for Notch 4, so I've been keeping it on the 5th, outermost notch. It's been a while since I did any A-B testing but I seem to recall it behaving better that way.

You're 100% right. I must've thought the cart weighed less or something. Fixed now, thanks!

Here’s something new for me: Can an edge warp harm the stylus if the stylus is tracking the record properly?

I just got this copy of Cannonball & Coltrane delivered today, and it sounds great. Unfortunately, it has, to my eyes, a nasty edge warp. But the Mastertracker seems to be tracking it masterfully.
Here’s a Dropbox video showing the problem: IMG_2214.MOV

Independent of how I deal w/ the seller, I’m wondering whether this will or could harm my brand new stylus? I’ve seen plenty of warps, but i don’t recall seeing something this jumpy. It’s an edge warp, so it improves as the record plays and is hardly noticeable in the middle of a side.

Wow. That is nasty.

That said, I wouldn’t worry about it. Cartridge manufacturers know records aren’t truly flat.

If you’re interested, here’s feedback on my question about the edge warp and potential harm to the stylus from the guy at Upscale Audio who set up the Mastertracker. I asked two questions; hence the “2.” On the bright side, I had a hard time hearing flutter but will listen w/ headphones to get a better sense.1646849793206.png

And as i found out... I used a leather mat on the platter, and that actually worsened some of the warps. After removing it - and resetting vta there are less warps now. Jeez. 🙈

I used a mat as i was used to have one. Do not use one. :)

I have a slight issue with the Heavyweight and the platter. Somehow, the heavyweight fits well without a record on the platter. However, with 180/200gr records, the heavyweight just wobbles on the spindel and not making contact with the record..

See if you can exchange it with your dealer.
