Watched Whiplash. I meant to a long time ago but put it off. I enjoyed it but probably not as much as everyone else does. I do think the ending sequence in particular is great tho.

Yah, the bullying is hard to get through (near torture) tbh, some of those music schools are dog eat dog even Berklee. But the ending and JK's performance are worth it.

Saw both Men and Crimes of the Future last night. Loved both!

Men is great. Not my favorite Garland film but still a job well done. A thoughtful meditation even if a bit straightforward/predictable. Super unsettling in parts, and some great body horror.

Crimes of the Future is a joyful return to quintessential Cronenbergian body horror. Chock full of off-kilter humor, it's yet another great installment of what fans like me always loved about his techno-corporeal obsession. Surprisingly light-hearted, and super fun! Fans of his earlier body horror films will no doubt enjoy this one, but it's sure to be even more rewarding if you've already read his novel Consumed as well.

Great choice for a double feature. I really like Garland but didn’t love Men. I liked it a lot in certain places and definitely am still thinking about certain parts of it. Marvelously acted, but agree on the straightforward/predictable elements.

Seeing Crimes of the Future this weekend and can’t wait. I love Cronenberg, huge fan of Crash and Eastern Promises (which don’t get as into the body horror stuff), but love the Fly, Videodrome, Naked Lunch and Dead Ringers, so super excited for this one!

Watched Joe Vs The Volcano at camp the other night. For some reason this story about a single man who leaves the job he hates to go to a volcano really connected with me.

Surprised it's not more of a cult classic.
