Movies

I liked the ending of Conclave, it caught me by surprise. Felt like you could kinda see where the film was going then it just threw a wrench in the works, excellently done. The cinematography was top tier. All the characters felt believable and "grounded" (within the confines of the world it's set in, at least). For a film about cardinals it was delightfully gossipy and silly. A great balance between serious and stupid.

I enjoyed it as well but was almost hoping they would lean into the silly side more.

I feel like they could have made it a miniseries and really leaned into a lot of the chisme, but for a ~2 hour film not sure they could have dug too much deeper into all that without getting difficult to follow. Feels like they dwelled on each "candidate" and vote just long enough.

The majority of the movie where it’s the Catholic version of Survior/Big Brother with all the cliques, twists and power moves I was absolutely enthralled. But I wasn’t really into the twist and felt like it just didn’t stick the landing

Oh hell yeah. Tonight's 90s Essential Movie Night rewatch with the oldest. She loved it. Wants the poster for her room....which I still have in a poster tube along with Heat and OT Star Wars posters from the media room in our old duplex. I knew there was a good reason to hold onto them. Easily in my top 5 of movies. Possibly the most essential of the 90s movies, IMO.
