Music Festivals

other than garbage, none of this is must see for me but i know i will have a great time with this lineup, and there are a lot of my teen/college years bands on here that i’ve never seen (green day, fall out boy, sublime, 311) and likely wouldn’t see outside of something like this.

seems like they booked this vibe-wise similar to that oceans calling fest last year. a lot of undercard overlap.

jfc, i have never been to a huge festival, nor do I intend to, and this Friday lineup is a great reason why. I am truly verklempt just reading the Friday lineup and then imagining myself going and trying to see all the artists I want to see, and missing some, and being too far away for others …

Beach House, Rilo Kiley, Slowdive, Car Seat Headrest, Built to Spill, Perfume Genius, Youth Lagoon, Hovvdy, Vagabon, Momma, Lunar Vacation, Wishy, Been Stellar. What the actual fux.

The other thing that keeps me away is how the hell could I even process seeing many of these artists all in one day?!?! drukqs, i guess.

More power to the people who do this but I need a small festival, or a simple concert with one opener and a headliner. I even get overwhelmed going to a show where I love the headliner and opener!

I get the way you feel, as my spouse and friends feel the same way. We do Ohana every year, and I can't get them there before 4pm because it is just too much music for them. I can go and go and not get tired of it. Quite a few years back MFNW was the week after Bumbershoot up here in the PNW. I would take the week off and go to both. One year I tracked it and I saw about 70 bands in that week with only one day where there wasn't any music. I was exhausted but it was just so great for me.
