Oh man, I was no real fan of his music (mostly for lack of listening) but we had some crazy good times together in years past. No parent should have to outlive their child. I’ve got 4 years on Justin but when we ran together it felt like he had 10 on me so I can’t say I am surprised at his early demise. Makes me wonder how many years I might have burned off my own life seeing as we shared some predilections for a while.

Oh my god, I remember learning all about Halyx last year. Huge fan of the Disney parks and the forgotten things about them, so I am 100% in on checking this out. Also I already really liked a lot of those Defunctland videos.

Does anybody remember Los Abandoned? They had some really fun tunes in the mid-2000s, and then went almost silent for a decade or so. This single quietly came out back in June. It was supposed to coincide with a tour, and maybe a new record, but, like everything else, things were shelved due to COVID. This feels very much in line with their other material (bilingual pop-punk), which is pretty impressive given the lengthy layoff. It also seems to reflect the times lyrically.

The new Joji album has some good stuff on it but it didn't need to be as long as it is and it really drags in the middle imo. It doesn't feel much like an "album" either, seems more like just a collection of songs put together. It's a fine project but I think if it was edited down to just the best songs it would be a much better album, I think he could have left off several songs and just saved them as bonus tracks or something
