Edit: I suppose the affordable alternative if one doesn't want to break the rules is to send anything that isn't media in a separate envelope, which should be much cheaper than paying non-media rate for the records.

Yeah...I can't recall any media mail I've gotten that was opened and inspected.

I did Amazon too, I felt bad but then looked at how my recent media mail regular purchases have been in postal limbo and wanted to make sure my Santee got the music before next year.

Yeah, my Amazon orders (Prime account and a lot of it is for business or kids Christmas gifts) are getting here in a day or two. I have media mail orders from before Thanksgiving that haven't even hit the regional processing center.

It sucks.
 
Btw I did like aviary but I feel like it was probably the wrong introduction to Julia Holter, specifically because despite being both disturbing and beautiful it's very long at 90 minutes and I found the vocals to be articulated too weird (it felt like the lyrics sheet was not portraying all the pauses in the lyrics right to be accurate.. also the lyrics seemed like gibberish)

But this is a first impression
