Good idea! My wife inexplicably hates this song which is sad!Should I listen Christmas Wrapping while I wrap my Santee's gift? hmm
Oh no! I’m glad someone else appreciates the song too though (you). I feel it’s super underrated.Good idea! My wife inexplicably hates this song which is sad!
Alas, poor Stevie Wonder - I was about 90 seconds into the first spin of the season for, "Someday at Christmas," when the door buzzer let me know that USPS was here. Low and behold, my Santa has delivered me a copy of Analog Africa's Mogadisco Compilation! Quicky my office (living room) found itself filled with the upbeat and joyous sounds of the Dur Dur Band and other Somalian funk, disco, and reggae!
Thank you so much Santa for fulfilling my first physical foray into Analog Africa's catalog. I actually first heard about this label via postings from @Skalap who was my Santee this year - I guess it comes full circle.
As you can see, the selection has been met with Orzo's seal of approval:

Technically, we all misuse media mail anyhow, the intention of the service is for libraries and schools to be able to send materials at a discounted rate.
I mean, I'm biased but you should check out the three Poly-Rythmo compilations and four (maybe more?) other compilations from Benin. Basically, you can't go wrong with Analog Africa. I haven't quite got everything they put out but very nearly and they're such good packages. In fact, I just tried to write down my favourites and it was hard to leave anything out. So you've got some fun ahead of you...Alas, poor Stevie Wonder - I was about 90 seconds into the first spin of the season for, "Someday at Christmas," when the door buzzer let me know that USPS was here. Glad you liked it. The other should be coming soon!Got this from my Secret Santa a few days ago but haven’t been able to take a picture. I have no clue who you are but thank you. Anything Tim Kasher related is always a good choice. As for my Santee, one of your gifts should be on its way soon and still narrowing down what to get for my other gift.

Oh yeah - I love a lot of the stuff I stream from them, but the LPs are priced a bit higher in the States. Otherwise, I'd probably have pulled the trigger on Dur Dur Vol 1, African Scream Contest, Chicken Run Band,...Yeah the writing and notes are fantastic and one of the main reasons why I love this label so much.

Agreed! Love this label. I wish I had far more of their titles than I do. Even though the sources are sometimes less than ideal, they always make sure it is well mastered and pressed and include wonderful write-ups about their quests to find the sources.Yeah the writing and notes are fantastic and one of the main reasons why I love this label so much.
