N&G Secret Santa - 21

Secret Santa arrived today, and @TenderLovingKiller® Tender Loving Killed(r) it. I've been meaning to pick up Dinosaur Jr. forever, it's a great surprise. That and Bleach are going to test my speakers (and kids patience) today for sure. Looking forward to the new discovery with Steve Gunn as well. Plus a handwritten card & drawing! Big thanks to the guy that keeps the monthly challenge threads running!

It's Kelly Finnegan "The tales people tell" and Neal Francis "In plain sight". I don't know any of these albums or even the artists, which is a great thing as I love to discover new music. A quick look has shown me they are doing some great Soul and RnB. I'm very excited to spin those records soon. They were send to me via JPC, so I see the sender adress and can say a big thanks to @Lee Newman. A great Christmas time to you. 🎄

The package I've send to my Santee now has left Frankfurt Airport and is on its international way. This is the first year I'm participating and I will keep on doing it for sure the next years. Thanks to all of you for being such a fantastic forum. ❤️
They’re faves from Colemine which is my most favoritest label. Searching through your Discogs made them easy picks. Hope you enjoy them!

Has anyone had success recently with shipping USPS 2 day vs. Media Mail or UPS?

I’m waiting on records to arrive and then shipping it out. But I’m wondering if it’ll actually be quicker.

Last holiday season I shipped a record I sold on Discogs media mail for someone buying as a gift and it didn’t arrive until the 29th. It was ordered from me on like the 12th. I also shipped gifts to family last year via regular mail, first class and UPS, and regular mail was faster than first class.

I was reading somewhere that if you want a package delivered by USPS prior to Christmas Day it needs to be in the mail no later than December 15th. I know that doesn’t really answer your question but maybe it helps you gauge delivery times.

USPS is killing it so far though I gotta PIF from Virginia in like 4 days.

Yeah I’ve done some normal Discogs sales recently and it’s been much better. I shipped a package back in October on the 2nd and it didn’t arrive until the 18th!

I received a package yesterday that I have to assume was from my Secret Santa. Whoever it is, thank you! I'm really intrigued by the Shabaka and the Ancestors record, I'm a big Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings fan, and Spooner Oldham is a legend. These will all get some spins!

Glad they got there OK. Hope you enjoy them all. I felt like you had a lot of jazz but didn't spy any from the modern London scene. This also doubles as an album from Africa, another of my loves. I was v worried about the Sharon Jones as you seemed to have everything else by her, but this is absolutely one of my go-to Christmas albums. And finally I was at the Dan Penn-Spooner Oldham concerts (bizarrely enough they were supporting Nick Lowe, not headlining). They're the nicest guys and have written some of the greatest soul songs ever. Happy spinning, and Merry Christmas!
