N&G Secret Santa

My Secret Santa gift came today and I am really floored by the picks.! I've wanted Ladysmith Black Mambazo for a while now and my Santa was able to track down a stellar copy! The two he picked out look right up my alley and I've never heard of them at all. I'm not a fan of "out there" jazz but I love me some soul jazz and jazz adjacent music. Bossanova jazz sounds right up my alley. I am also a huge trip hop fan and the Birthh album looks like something that slipped under my radar. Any label named after a Pet Shop Boys lyric is awesome in my book.

nailed it.

I noticed Trust in the Lifeforce in your catalog, so Afterlife (which I actually prefer) seemed a natural selection.

You have very broad and eclectic takes, so I took a gamble on The Hi-Lo's and making the spectrum of the albums cover quite a number of years. the list of artists crediting them as influence is massive and I saw, albeit a crooked one, a line between them and The Comet is Coming, so I went for it.

a sweet record frame showed up today, and I don't have any display pieces currently, so I'm stoked! I've got the perfect wall space near my buffet and I'm hanging it this weekend 💜 many thanks and hugs. quite enjoying the Clarence Clarity and Melody's Echo Chamber spins and will think of you and N&G anytime I see this.
