Oasis - Don't Believe The Truth (he didn't do the one oasis album because we already now oasis and we already have an opinion on them)

Not fair! I didn’t pick oasis’ huge debut for a variety of reasons, that was one, but it was under serious consideration. It, however, was good enough to be an AoTM. This is oasis’ best later career album and I enjoy it but I would never have picked it as an AoTM, regardless of people’s opinions on the band. It quite simply is not up to that standard.

Okay, so it's for sure The Gloaming - probably 2, but technically I think 3 and their live album are still in the running.

Then I suppose we can't rule out the Caoimhin/Bartlett album, even though I think the "band/group" and "European music" clues make it a stretch

Without any “it’s this artist” strings attached:

Do you consider Royal Blood and The White Stripes to be bands/groups?

and if we go past the members is the music European?

Yes, and yes. I guess the difference for me is that when two members of an existing band release an album under their actual names rather than a separate band name, it seems different to me. So White Stripes, definitely a band/group - David Byrne and St. Vincent, I'd probably say more side project or duo.

And yeah, I would agree it's European music. But more importantly, I'd agree that you'd call it European music, because you filled out the Discogs entry and added "Celtic" 😂

haha yes I did add it to Discogs and was the only person on there with it for a good month!

It’s from the same stable and musical style as The Gloaming no doubt but it’s also kind of it’s own thing. Whereas the Gloaming is anchored by the two traditional musicians and the singer with these two providing atmosphere, ambiance and that little bit of something special that elevates, this album is very much more improvised and minimalist. Its well worth a listen at any rate!
