I'm guessing the Amazon US link is the best buying option for the US?

From our investigationa I think if you hit bandcamp that it geodirects you yanks to the us option to buy from Brassland rather than the eu option to buy from real world. I also didn’t check other stores (just amazon to see it wasn’t too expensive/rare) so feel free to investigate your favoured physical/web store.

i'll figure out what i will buy one time this week... because the gloaming was too much.. i just need to see if i want any of the further listenings because i DO want to support this month but i wanna spend money wisely, especially when its almost christmas

You don’t need to buy anything to support this month. Giving something new a go is all any of us ever ask you all for. So long as you do that I’m happy, I really don’t want you to own a record that you don’t listen to or, worse, don’t like!

Actually important point. These AoTM’s are a FOMO free area. As a picker I’d be really upset if you didn’t at least give it a fair go on the streaming source of your choice. However after doing this if it isn’t for you please do not feel any obligation to go out and buy the record, instead you should fully embrace JOMO!

That's where I got mine. It is the cheapest, but mine shipped from some warehouse in Shepardsville, KY. I don't think it was "amazon prime," but it was from some other seller. Record plays great, but there is some dinged corners on the jacket.

Its rarewaves. I use them a lot. They are a specialist in sending american records to us in Europe and selling European records to you in america. They tend to be good at cutting through customs crap and selling such stuff at a fair price.

i just usually feel bad because "i didn't join for the last few months and i dont wanna seem prejudiced against some picks or too picky"

Please do not feel that pressure from me! A music collection is a deeply personal thing that reflects you. I’m very happy to try to introduce you to something new but I don’t ever want you to feel like I am forcing you to either spend you money on it or have it in your collection.

In the old place that judgment was all too rife. I own 20-30 jazz records without actually liking jazz all that much because of it. It was part of their FOMO sales bullshit.

Here we don’t have any stake, beyond fandom, and we ask nothing more than sampling. You do you @duke86fan, let us take you to the water but reserve the decision as to whether you drink for yourself!

I will admit that when things started shaping up and it appeared the Gloaming was the pick I tried a track on Spotify and was not at all excited. However, this morning I listened to the pick in full and it truly is an amazing piece of work. It certainly is not something I would have come into on my own so I am deeply appreciative of this new musical experience.

And continuing my goal of highlighting great Irish music could I please have your attention for my further listening picks! I didn't want to repeat myself with Anna Mieke and Lisa Hannigan but please consider them to be in here in spirit.

The Pogues - Rum Sodomy and the Lash

For their second album The Pogues really did step it up a notch. Whilst remaining as wild and chaotic as ever the songwriting of Shane McGowan took a giant leap forward as evidenced in the all time classics "A Pair of Brown Eyes" and "And The Band Played Waltzing Matilda'.

Microdisney - The Clock Comes Down The Stairs

This is probably the type of album a tot of people might have thought I would pick! A little heard of indie album from the 1980s haha! An album from a hyper-literate pair of songwriters that melds poetic lyrics with beautiful melodies.

Sinead O'Connor - The Lion and The Cobra

A true original, unbridled ferocity and extreme vulnerability all in one package. Sinead arrived fully formed on her first album, one of the most electrifying debuts imaginable.

Ash - 1977

Pure unbridled fun from Downpatrick's finest. Just an excellent punk album filled with hook laden singles. I dare you not to sing along to "Girl From Mars" and "Kung Fu".

The Villagers - {Awayland]

Conor O'Brien is one of the most interesting lyricists in Ireland at the moment. With this second album The Villagers really being to grow and play with the indie folk sound they established with their debut album.

Hilary Woods - Colt

A beautiful and haunting atmospheric debut album. This was one of my favourites of last years and veterans from our previous incarnation will probably remember me banging on about it over there!

EDIT: Spotify links are in the further listening post on the front page here
I love most of the Albums above except Hilary woods and microdisney, which i definetly have to check out
