I think it's a girl band with a man on drums. @ChristoBee, according to hint #11 you can rule out Debbie Deb, Joni Mitchell, Janet Jackson, Donna Summer, Marilyn Manson, and, sorry @Teeeee, Paula Abdul. This pile of magazines does mean something! It may have been a record released or reissued on Feb 2009, it must be. 1 means it's their first album for sure. Hint #8 took me to the Bangles but no dude on drums, I would have loved to walk like an Egyptian but it won't be this month.

All the magazines are fashion magazines I seem to remember? Could it be someone involved in fashion? Like Karen O? Someone set up by fashion designers? Like the Sex Pistols? Or someone who wrote a song about fashion? Like Bowie?

Or it could just be Happiness in Magazines by Graham Coxon which would make me stupendously happy (if it’s even available on vinyl)

This might be the website where @girlnevergoesout took the magazines picture. The name of the picture is Stack-of-magazines-006 so girlnevergoesout was, first of all, looking for a stack of magazines.

Only thing about Elastica is it doesn't fit the narrative of "wasn't widely available when the AOTMs started, but is now." According to Discogs the most recent reissue was the 2017 and despite several pressings, doesn't seem to the cheapest album to buy on vinyl (at least that's what it looks like from skimming the Discogs marketplace). The band's only other album, The Menace, has only one pressing from 2000 that is pricey.

Back to the girl band + dude drummer, I found this page "Are there any bands with three females or four and with one male (preferably rock)?".

Answers are :
- The Shop Assistants but only one self-titled LP released in 1986 and reissued by 4 Men With Bears :sick: in 2012 ;
- The Raincoats with their second album Odyshape (read @D Jilla post ) and third album Moving (but no recent reissues) ;
- The Slits with Cut, reissued in 2019 ;
- Elastica with their first album, there is a recent but limited (and now expensive) reissue ;
- Bikini Kill with two of their albums Reject All American & Pussy Whipped reissued last year ;
- Cansei de Ser Sexy but their best album CSS and Donkey were released in 2005 and 2008;
- Throwing Muses but no recent reissues of any of their early albums ;
- The Breeders with Last Splash, reissued in 2018.

We think it’s a band with a frontwoman but do we know that it is an all female band with a male drummer or could it just be a frontwoman, a male drummer and who knows what the gender of the other band members are

Let's say we know it is an all female band with a male drummer and let's says it's either Bikini Kill or the Breeders.
