Never knew about all this. Comps have played a huge role in getting me into bands from earlier generations. BTW if you're a Dylan fan you should check out that guy's newsletter.

Neil was already my all-time fav...does nothing but increase my appreciation. The cynic in me is a little skeptical about this being a way to drive traffic to NYA, but hey, I'm already there so the more the merrier!

I’m actually considering moving from Spotify based on this (The Best Show, a favorite podcast of mine, has also deplatformed from the service); I have an Apple Music trial and am impressed with the sound quality. My only reservation is the lack of integration re: last.fm scrobblong…

I made the switch last week right before all this came out because of the better sound quality. I just hate that all the major services are corporations with extra terrible reputations. I'm holding out hope that Bandcamp will do a service eventually that has a good revenue share model with artists. It honestly should pay more per stream to small artists than the big ones. I'd line up for that.
