Neverending Covid-19 Coronavirus

It is crazy to me, CRAZY, that UberEats and all similar services are still operating. There is no need to put those drivers at unnecessary risk for delivery fast food french fries.

The email I received was asking customers to contact the drivers and ask them to leave the orders on the porch and avoid all contact... I still don't know if it's a good call or not.

In theory, definitely agree. But in practice, we all know that isn't 100% followed.

I don't know. I just don't feel like restaurant delivery is essential. And we should be moving towards only essential businesses staying open. But then - what is essential? Lol

Hospitals
Doctors and nurses
Freight transportation
Longshoremen
Grocery Stores
Pharmacies
Gas Station
Mechanics
Fire and Rescue
Police
Corrections officers
Bankers
Insurance Agents
Farmers/Food Production
Military
Funeral workers
Electricians
Plumbers
Sanitation workers

I’m sure there are more.

A friend texted me that he was going golfing today. I am having the weirdest mix of emotions, none of them particularly healthy. I guess I'm a little envious because he apparently has little fear of going out and I'm certainly headed the other way...I barely want to go to the store. It's a beautiful March day in Michigan and I can't find the joy, and wondering how others can. I realize this is my issue, not his. Golf should be a relatively safe activity right? You're outdoors and can easily stay 6 feet or more away from others.

my friend and I used to go golfing in high school for free at our town public course. We'd sneak onto the golf course after 6~ pm in the summer. We'd walk around the back of the course, well far away from the club house and activities so no one would see us. We'd only ever get in about 5 or 6 holes before it became too dark to see anyways. There was never anyone around us when we went. I guess my personal anecdote aside, golf is a more isolated sport. If he keeps his distance from everyone it should be fine.

Things you love to see

no idea if this would be only once/monthly/quarterly? but it's a step in the right direction for universal basic income

Is this only for people who aren't getting paid currently? Or would someone like me, who is getting paid (and it looks like I'll be getting some overtime as well) also get this money? I'd feel guilty taking that... but could also really use it...

I feel like it should be for everyone but I could see it being only for the unemployed. However, someone making 100k is probably a bigger office/corporate position, probably can work remote, probably has a decent savings. So if they’re included why not everyone. I’m in the same boat, I’m luckily still working and could definitely use it too.

If you say “Contaigion” I’ll shit.

I mean, it would have made this list had I stretched it to a top 150:

"So I had wanted to fully catch up on last year's (mostly foreign), do some re-watching and get around to a number of films that somehow passed me by (Call Me By Your Name, Dunkirk, The Reverent) before releasing this....

But with everyone in quarantine it seems like a good time to drop my 125 favorite films of last decade. It was a ten year period where I was, at one point, watching 150+ films a year. An era where bold and brilliant films often got lost in a sea of content.

Needless to say, I highly recommend every film on this list (and that conversation is encouraged in the comment section)":

Two of my co-workers left on what definitely now seems to have been an ill advised trip to Peru on Saturday. On Sunday, Peru announced it would shut down its borders Monday, until at least the 31st. They were unable to get travel back to Lima to get a flight out in time. So, they are stuck until at least then. One of them is pretty new and probably doesn't have much PTO. Crazy.

Edit: it was not a work related trip.
