Neverending Covid-19 Coronavirus

Is this only for people who aren't getting paid currently? Or would someone like me, who is getting paid (and it looks like I'll be getting some overtime as well) also get this money? I'd feel guilty taking that... but could also really use it...
I feel like it should be for everyone but I could see it being only for the unemployed. However, someone making 100k is probably a bigger office/corporate position, probably can work remote, probably has a decent savings. So if they’re included why not everyone. I’m in the same boat, I’m luckily still working and could definitely use it too.
I'm not going to try to guess who gets this, but man, that $$ would help us out a lot. I would like to lean towards everyone getting it because it does have a provision to give $1K per child, so regardless of whatever, if you have a kid, you would get money under this plan regardless of income, right?

Trump said there was a salary cap during his speech earlier this afternoon. I can't remember what it is. But if you make over a certain amount you would not be eligible.

Another ridiculous patent fight involving COVID-19.

There is a specific valve for medical equipment needed by Italian hospitals. The manufacturers can not supply enough. So someone at the hospital worked with a person to 3D print the valve.

Valve cost from manufacturer: $11,000
Cost of 3D printed valve: $1

The manufacturer of course is suing for a patent violation.

Just saw on the local news that a lab in the Boston area is only able to complete 9 tests a day currently. They are hoping to be able to complete up to 36 tests a day in the near future.

The issue is the machine they use for testing had to be adapted. And special cartridges need to be used to test for COVID-19 and there simply are not enough cartridges available.

Due to the amount of time it takes to run a test and the labs capacity with the machines they use, a maximum of 36 tests a day is all they can manage.

And unless we get a rapid test in the near future, there is no way our current healthcare system can handle the need for tests.

They said the issue is this virus is a completely new microbe. Something that has never been tested for before. And we as a system, were not prepared for that.

I have a hard time understanding this. Why can't we just copy what SK is doing? Why can't we use the tests everyone else is using? Why couldn't we start using them weeks ago?
