I spent some more dedicated time with Holy Hive last night and I'm leaning towards agreeing with you now. After a few listens this one grew on me a ton and is really great! Definitely has some interesting sounds, and while I mostly consider it a soul album, I do hear that folk influence as well and think it's great.

Arca - KiCk i and Fakear - Everything Will Grow Again were the two I was really looking forward to checking out today and neither disappointed. Arca's album is funky and beautiful and Fakear brought the usual lush af production. I'll have to dig into some of the others on Tj's list above.
 
After sampling the first track via the NPR playlist I'll definitely be checking out Maceo Parker - Soul Food: Cooking with Maceo. Cross the Track is a a jam!
