New Music Friday!

I have been meaning to do this for a while now, but just have not gotten around to it. Here is a short list of some of the lesser talked about releases that I enjoyed this weekend that I think are worth checking out.

Becca Mancari - The Greatest Part
I want to call this funky folk music, it has some great grooves on it as well as some thought provoking lyricism. Really well done album from front to back.

Ego Ella May - Honey For Wounds
Modern soulful R&B from a new London based Singer/Songwriter on the rise.

Nana Grizol - South Somewhere Else
Fun Garage/Punk band with a great horn section, tackling the issues of growing up queer in the south.

Nadine Shah - Kitchen Sink
Extremely interesting album, you never know what sound/melody/rhythm is coming next, and her vocal delivery is very distinct and singular.

Country Westerns - S/T
Reminds me of Jason Isbell's work with the 400 Unit, but just a bit rougher around the edges.

박혜진 Park Hye Jin - How Can I
Some nice mellow electro that just keeps your head bobbing the whole time.

I swear I've never seen or heard this name before a couple of months ago in this forum, and now I see it CONstantly. Did he just have a breakthrough or something, or is this one of those things where I haven't been paying attention, or what?

He's an underground rapper who started out with Griselda but had a falling out before they started really blowing up, but he's developed a strong cult following of his own. Probably most well known for sellimg his physical albums for insane dollar amounts (see here), and always wearing a Haitian flag bandana over his face. If you ever want to really dive in go talk to @Jonathan Y in the Mach-Hommy thread.

This is on my list to buy. I would have already ordered it if shipping wasn't 12 dollars to the States. I love this band.
I'm a big fan too, it's interesting how different their music is from their first album. Hopefully I can see them live again, I want to see if their shows and how they are on stage is any different.

One of my favorite shows ever was when Rural Alberta Advantage and them toured in the states. They played at small clubs. I remember Leah and Peter coming into the crowd getting right in everyone's face.
