@nolalady what did you think of Esperanza's album?
I have yet to listen.
I usually wait until I get the physical copy, but since the physical copy isn't going to be here until April, 2022, I guess I'll give it a go tomorrow.

Well, let me know what you think whenever you do get around to listening to it! I'm on my 5th listen now and still trying to form a solid opinion. I'm considering a physical purchase.

And thanks for the compliment on my recs! Let me know what sounds good come Friday 🎧

Other than the John Prine tribute I'd forgotten was coming out this week, I've gotten through my list already and nothing has absolutely floored me. Nothing really disappointed me, either - solid enough stuff that I've enjoyed well enough.

This is my favourite album of the week this week:

I actually feel the same way about today's releases. I'm able to listen today while I'm driving for work, and I've gotten through 7 albums already. Nothing has disappointed, but nothing has blown me away either. The album I have enjoyed the most so far today is the new album from Caravan. I am saving the bad bad not good album for later because I wanna spin that 1 on vinyl for my 1st listen, as it's my most anticipated. Man, James Blake is very disappointing 5 songs in, reminds me way too much of Assume Form which I didn't like. James Blake x Features doesn't feel natural to me at all, it kills what made his earlier music so memorable and beautiful. I hated that Assume Form felt like a commercial album and now his concerts are all anchored by a song with a Travis Scott feature that makes the new fans in the crowd go crazy but does nothing for fans of The Color in Anything and previous works.

The first song on this album sets it up like you're about to go on an epic journey and then songs 2-5 are big corny mehs.
