The debut album from Japanese-Canadian (Toronto) singer/bassist/multi-instrumentalist Saya Gray was not on my radar but oh boy is it ever good She comes from a musical family, her father is a trumpeter and music producer, and her mother who's Japanese-born founded the independent music school Discovery. Her blend of folky psychedelic pop and alternative R&B is a delightful unpredictable kaleidoscope of sounds. Check it out!

Slightly off topic but for those who like Salyu's All About Lily Chou Chou soundtrack - Ichiko recently had a cover of Arabasque from that album.



I also highly recommend the whole soundtrack if you haven't heard it. Mitski recently had covered Glide from this album too.
