Yea quite a few people here had this issue and it was a faulty thermal switch. I believe HG walked them through the way to just bypass the switchI recently ran into an issue with my Humminguru and was curious if anyone has experienced something similar.
I've had it since April, and have probably cleaned a few hundred records in that time. The other day, I started an auto cycle and a few seconds in, it stopped. I restarted the cycle and it worked fine. I emailed Humminguru, and they said it was probably the thermal switch being activated, and they added that I shouldn't clean more that 5 records in one sitting (I usually don't).
Yesterday, I went to clean some new purchases and the same thing happened on the very first record. It cleaned for a fraction of a second and then stopped. It seems to me like the thermal switch might be faulty (since it couldn't have been overheating in less that a second, I would think).
Anyone else had this problem?
I believe at least one or two people earlier in this thread have encountered the issue. You can typically either request a replacement board from Humminguru/Happywell (you're a recent enough owner that this should not be a problem), or just disable the thermal switch entirely. Your unit is new enough that I would request a new board. You can always disable the switch to get things working meanwhile.I recently ran into an issue with my Humminguru and was curious if anyone has experienced something similar.

I know it's gonna be a scam, but I still might gamble on it at this price cause I'm an idiot! I hope some other idiot on here joins me so we can be sad together in the future when they send us a box with a toaster in it.

Hope no one backed this... Any updates?
Is this happening with every record? I think most of us have experienced that sometimes the way an edge of a record is cut will prevent it from spinning in the HumminGuru. There's an easy fix for that. But if you're having the problem consistently, that could be something else I don't remember hearing about.Well damn, it looks like I already ran into an issue.. The left side wheel that turns the vinyl just randomly stopped working after only 30 or so records total. I was doing some looking around in here and it looks like another person dealt with pretty much the same issue after only 50 uses. From the sound of it, it sems to likely be a motor that went out but before I contact them and go through all that I was wondering if anyone else dealt with this issue and was able to fix it without replacing the motor?
@Academy if you don't mind me asking, did you have to also end up changing out the motor to fix the issue?
It's happened with only one or two of my LPs; all others work fine.Is this happening with every record? I’ve had that issue too. And like @Russ I said, it’s usually an issue with the record not being quite the right size of the edge being cut differently. I forget how other people have solved it in the past (think people had some good fixes). My way to deal with it is pretty silly but it works for me…It's happened with only one or two of my LPs; all others work fine.

Yeah! That's a great idea and will def. stop it from happening again.. I'll be doing the same thing.I added a little felt sticker to mine and it fixed it - haven't had a record not spin since.

i think this is actually what HG recommends to do. Someone (probably @Russ I ) found it on their site.I added a little felt sticker to mine and it fixed it - haven't had a record not spin since.

I did the same. I think it was a tiny felt pad that had come with a piece of furniture or something. Solved the (admittedly rare) problem.I added a little felt sticker to mine and it fixed it - haven't had a record not spin since.
