NHL Thread Because There Isn't An NHL Thread

Letang did nothing during the game I watched and Malkin is out…. We need to rebuild at some point.

Y - They're going to have to wait until Malkin comes back and shows something. So I'm sure they're hoping he's back in Dec. and not Jan. Sid is signed for another 4. So they could re-up Malkin or both but I think if they're using their heads and not their hearts they'll get what they can for both this season.

How many Pens fans are in this thread anyway???
As a Pittsburgh native I thought everyone else always hated them especially during the Crosby era 🤷‍♂️

I was lucky enough to have been there during the Lemieux cup runs. Those teams were amazing.

But how do you feel about the lazerbird because that’s what you’re being judged on here

I'm the biggest Pens 🐧 fan in Ottawa (self-proclaimed)! 😁 I became a fan of the team back in 1984 when Pittsburgh drafted Lemieux, and I have remained loyal to them ever since 🤷‍♂️

lol - hated the change as a kid, but don't mind it as much now. The skater bird is far superior. The triangle behind is important representing the "golden triangle" of dahn-tawhn Picksberg and the confluence of the Allegheny and Monongahela to form the Ohio.

I'm not even from the Burg and I new the meaning behind the "golden triangle" 😁

But see I'm a die-hard Pens fan, not to mention a bit of a nerd when it comes to hockey logos so I did a lot of research back in the day 😉

The name being the Penguins is a bit of a strange one too. All the Pittsburgh teams are the same colors so that fits and obviously the P and the civic arena looked like a giant igloo (not sure why that was related to Penguins tho). There's a substantial Penguin exhibit at the zoo but that all came to be because Sarah Mellon - Scaife of the industrialists Mellons of course had substantial wealth and a lot of time on her hands and tried to breed emperor penguins on their estate. I think that's how the zoo pens came to be.

Don't dig too deep on the Mellons, Scaifes, or the civic arena history.
