NHL Thread Because There Isn't An NHL Thread

That was a weirdly interesting game. But not a particularly fast game. Not entirely sure it was representative of either team, but I guess we’ll see.

You guys are complaining, but guys like Weise, Ouelette and Weal have no business on a playoff team unless there's a lot of injuries. Habs traded 4 guys at the deadline that would have been in the line-up. No gamechangers, except maybe Kovalchuk and the way he was playing before leaving, but at least NHL calibre guys.

A couple wins before bowing out will be good for kids like Kotkaniemi, Suzuki and Domi though.

Stop with your negativity. Anyone who’s been paying attention to the Pens in the playoffs the last couple of seasons should know that Montreal shouldn’t be the underdog. That makes 7 straight playoff loses in a row for them.

I’m kind of curious how the Round Robin games are going to go. Yeah, you’re jockeying for seeding, but are you gonna go at 100% against a team you’re likely going to see again anyway and risk injury just for seed position? Thinking specifically about the Crapitals and to a lesser extent the Bruins. More physical teams could put themselves at risk or say in the case of like the Craps/Bolts, a heavy team is going to pose more risk to a team built on speed when you’re playing a compressed schedule.

Just being realistic with the Habs. The Pens are icing a much much better team. Like not even in the same league. The Habs had TWO 8+ game losing streaks this year and the season wasn't even over. Price can be a difference maker though, and I believe he is one of the reasons for the result tonight by coming up big on the PK. The big X-factor for the Habs is the way Suzuki and Kotkaniemi are playing. Domi came up big playing with 2 scrubs on the 4th line too. Danault has a good track record in somewhat containing Crosby but Danault did not have a good game . Nothing's impossible, especially when you only need 3 wins, but I'd be surprised they have enough to overcome all the firepower on the Pens in a series.
