NHL Thread Because There Isn't An NHL Thread

The Montreal Canadiens acquired forward Kirby Dach from the Chicago Blackhawks following a pair of trades during Round 1 of the 2022 NHL Draft.

The Habs sent defenseman Alex Romanov and the 98th overall pick to the New York Islanders in exchange for the 13th overall selection. Montreal then sent the 13th and 66th overall picks to the Blackhawks for Dach.

More to come.

Damn. This choice scares me. Most uncertain one of the bunch as far as I'm concerned. Could be a home run, could be a bust. So hard to gauge a player like this with so few league games and a few tournaments missing the best players. I'm hoping this new management did their homework.

Hopefully they get a solid center with the late 1st rounder or that early 2nd rounder.

...and I guess they got a center through trade. Dach coming in from Chicago. Romanov going to NYI. Lots of picks moving, but not the other 1st rounder or early 2nd yet.

I remember a few years ago, they couldn't believe Tolvanen fell to us at 30 and he has been pretty underwhelming. Hopefully this isn't more of the same.

TRADE ALERT 🚨

Husso, a pending unrestricted free agent, signed a three-year contract with the Red Wings following the trade, the NHL announced.

His contract carries an average annual value of $4.75 million, according to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman.

The 27-year-old netminder appeared in 40 games for the Blues in 2021-22, posting a 25-7 record with a .919 save percentage.
