TRADE ALERT 
The Washington Capitals traded goaltender Vitek Vanecek and the 46th pick in the 2022 NHL Draft to the New Jersey Devils for the No. 37 and No. 70 selections, the Devils announced on Friday.
Vanecek appeared in 42 games for the Capitals in 2021-22. The 26-year-old posted a 20-12 record with a 2.67 GAA and .908 save percentage. He also recorded four shutouts.
There have been a number of moves involving netminders in recent days. On Friday, the Detroit Red Wings acquired Ville Husso from the St. Louis Blues, which followed trades involving Petr Mrazek and Alexandar Georgiev on Thursday.

Husso, a pending unrestricted free agent, signed a three-year contract with the Red Wings following the trade, the NHL announced.
His contract carries an average annual value of $4.75 million, according to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman.
The 27-year-old netminder appeared in 40 games for the Blues in 2021-22, posting a 25-7 record with a .919 save percentage.

Good for him. Seattle is lucky to have landed such a great prospect at #4. I mean all of the top picks this year have question marks, but I always felt he was the safest pick of the bunch in terms of getting a solid NHL player. Ceiling as a two-way center is still high too.
