NHL Thread Because There Isn't An NHL Thread

It would be stunning if Seattle took Price.

On a side note, I’m hoping that Vince Dunn ends up on either Seattle or Penguins because we share last names and I could finally get a jersey with my last name on it 😁
Not only is Price from western Canada (central BC specifically), but he also played WHL hockey for the Tri-City Americans. AND his wife is from Kennewick. I wouldn't be shocked if they were willing to take a gamble on going to Seattle to be closer to home for both of them.

I think that's the whole allure.

It’s still crazy to me. This is all making the summer break more exciting!

So based on this article, it’s safe to assume selected players will be in attendance at the event? If so that would mean Seattle likely will know it’s selections Tuesday or incredibly early Wednesday to allow time for players to fly into town? if so damn…now I wish I had requested tickets 😩.

On this C.Price matter I really don’t see how/why Seattle passes up. Francis has the green light to spend up to the cap limit. Having a seasoned and tested net minder seems like a critical piece of the future franchise. Fingers crossed 🤞!

EDIT: answered my own question. Looks like the goal is to get some players in attendance.

Yeah, I think they might have a few players in attendance.

Apparently they will have a few guests in attendance as well, including Marshawn Lynch, Sue Bird (Storm), Seattle SuperSonics legends Lenny Wilkins, Shawn Kemp and Gary Payton, and Grammy award-winner Macklemore.

Price has been an above-average goalie for one season out of the past four and he's 33, possibly injured, and on the books for a very long time at a very large cap hit. I'd stay far away.

Habs Circling Back on Hoffman?

After failing to earn the services of Mike Hoffman in free agency prior to this season, Andy Strickland of Bally Sports Midwest expects the Montreal Canadiens to make another run at the winger.

Strickland reports Hoffman opted to join the St. Louis Blues in January, despite the Canadiens going close to a $1 million more on a one-year term. He adds the Blues have also shown interest in having Hoffman return.

The 31-year-old scored 17 goals and posted 36 points in 52 games with the Blues while carrying a cap hit of $4 million. He added one goal in four playoff games with the Blues.

Hoffman has topped the 20-goal mark in each of the past six 82-game seasons, and scored a career-best 36 goals with the Florida Panthers 2018-19.
