NHL Thread Because There Isn't An NHL Thread

Pens beat writer Josh Yohe has said somewhere, probably an article for The Athletic, that Hextall wants to make a big splash for goaltending. The only 2 splashy names that come to mind are Gibson & Fleury.
Gibson's name has been bandied about before but I think it's a pipe dream to imagine the Pens being able to offer a trade with Anaheim that would make sense for the Ducks? Unless they offer up Guentzel or something 🤷 As for Flower there's no way in hell Vegas let's him go as the owners love him way too much!

True, the owner loves Fleury but management might not. I mean the Vezina winner was riding the bench for an elimination game. VGK need to make room to possibly sign Martinez and maybe make a play for Eichel. They have 12 million tied up in goal. They extended Lehner and I don’t think they trade him. That would send a bad message to future FA candidates.
I figured that they would just run with Lehner and Fleury for this upcoming season and just let Fleury walk after. They have that kid in the A that can back up Lehner and probably cut their goalie cost in half. But I know the owner wants to win now and they need a legitimate 1C.

The Seattle Kraken have made their first big splash, agreeing to a four-year contract with pending unrestricted free-agent defenseman Adam Larsson of the Edmonton Oilers, reports TSN's Darren Dreger.

The pact carries an average annual value of $4 million, Dreger adds.

Larsson isn't technically a free agent until July 28, but the Kraken had an exclusive window from July 18-21 to negotiate with all pending free agents left exposed for the expansion draft. The window closed Wednesday morning, according to TSN's Pierre LeBrun.

The 28-year-old played the last five seasons with the Oilers after the team acquired him from the New Jersey Devils in exchange for Taylor Hall in 2016.

Larsson played his first five campaigns with the Devils, who drafted him fourth overall in 2011.

The Swedish blue-liner played all 56 games for Edmonton in 2021, ranking third among the club's rearguards in average ice time with 19:39.
