Only 1 purchase in January, $70 for 1 month of VMP. When you do a single month sub with a VMP, you really see how much of a kick in the n#ts it really is. Hoping to trade some stuff in during February so that month may be a no cost for me.

£35 red vinyl

And as I’m off the wagon I brought some sale stuff at Assai as they sent me a £10 voucher

£30 for 4 albums in the sale

So £65 for feb - no more now !

So a bonus £20 amazon voucher came my way - so the cure have been forgiven- but £24 added to the no buy feb total

Nipped out lunchtime for a walk round the block at work …

… new record shop opened (actually an old one that’s moved to new premises ) which now stocks used as well as new

So £10 poorer (diesel park wests difficult to find 2nd album on vinyl)

So £133 now in feb

Unbelievable but true - the other half made me buy two £4 albums as she spotted this Heart album she wanted in an a market - which was £8 so I could match it - so another Clannad and Vangelis album in the pile

I've still just made the one purchase this year, Joni Mitchell's Clouds, which completed my early to mid-era collection of hers. I even skipped a record show this morning that I almost always attend at my old high school. Yep, I'm committed to not add to my collection until the painting, flooring and new shelving is complete in the family room.

I behaved myself at the record show on Sunday. Sold 35 pieces, only bought one. Traded one with a friend.

Traded in a dozen records in Toronto yesterday. Picked up 4, spent 35. So far for the year I am at $105.

Moving in the next few months, so my current plan is to not only stop buying so much vinyl but to reduce my collection from ~750 to 400 or so. Besides the cost, I find myself sometimes not playing vinyl because it's too hard too pick something out.
