October 2021 Vinyl Spin Challenge Thread: Let's Get Lexical, Lexical

10. Adamantine - (adj.) unbreakable

The album title says it all. Lydia Loveless is unbreakable.

This song is electric on the LP but this live solo acoustic version carries all the intensity.

The trailer for the Lydia Loveless documentary. A live electric take of Just Like Them is the soundtrack. How can you argue with an alt-country burner built around the chords of The Velvet Underground's 'What Goes On'? Well, you can't.

Yes, I know I played this last month (I think, it’s all a blur now), but this has one of the most flawless songs (disco or otherwise) and it’s pretty inspirational to do something, take your time while doing so, to do it right, even if it takes all night.

Deafheaven - Infinite Granite

Granite is pretty tough, but if you make it infinite, I'm gonna assume that makes it unbreakable.

Sun Ra Arkestra - Swirling

Not even the passing of Sun Ra himself could break the spirit of the Arkestra. They have been sailing the super-sonic sounds of the cosmos for nearly 30 years hence under the direction of long-time Arkestra member, Sun Ra acolyte and spritely saxophone wizard Marshall Allen.
